Computing

Computers are now part of everyday life and the computing curriculum aims to equip children with the skills and understanding of how computers and computer systems work, and how they are designed and programmed together with how to use computers and online technology safely.

 As children progress, they will gain an understanding of computational systems of all kinds, whether or not they include computers.  Children will also develop their ‘Computational thinking’ a skill which allows children to participate effectively in this digital world and prepares them for the workplace. Computational thinking allows children to solve problems across the curriculum, design systems, use and understand computer-based technology and so are better prepared for today’s world and the future.
