Harlequins Tackling Maths (Year 4)

On 8^th November 2017, Year 4 had their first visit from instructors from Harlequins rugby club. We played games such as ‘Twin, Chicken, Hero’ and ‘Stuck in the Mud’ before trying out some tag rugby. We also learned how to hold and throw a rugby ball. Back in the classroom, we had our first ‘Tackling Numbers’ session. First, we practised addition using the column method and chunking. After some practice, we then used our adding skills to figure out how much money we would need to buy some items in the Harlequins gift shop.

The children in Year 4 loved the P.E. and Maths sessions and are already looking forward to next week’s activities!
